The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) offers a valuable route to Canadian permanent residence. It allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who want to immigrate to Canada and settle in a specific province. Our D2D Immigration Services is dedicated to providing you with the best way to apply for Canadian permanent residence with a provincial nomination.
Each Canadian province has its own unique Provincial Nominee Program, and most PNPs have at least one immigration stream aligned with the federal Express Entry system. Provincial nominations issued under these Express Entry-aligned streams are known as “enhanced nominations” and provide Express Entry candidates with an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.
Provincial Nominee Programs across Canada actively seek and retain eligible foreign nationals by making the process of applying for Canadian permanent residence more accessible. Whether a provincial nomination certificate is issued through Express Entry or outside the selection system, the nominee is still required to submit a separate application for permanent resident status to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). You can find out how long it may take for a Canadian immigration application to process by using our D2D Immigration Processing Times tool.
Please note that the Northern Canada territory of Nunavut currently does not have a PNP, and Quebec does not participate in the federal government’s PNP. Instead, the government of Quebec and the Canadian government have entered into a series of agreements that enable the province of Quebec to establish its own selection criteria for economic immigration.
